We’ve all been there.
In the midst of the city’s daily hustle and bustle, sunlight is streaming through your office windows. The temperature has been rising and summer is quickly approaching. It’s a beautiful day. And you’re dying to get out from behind your desk.
What better way to break up the day than to take a moment outside of your daily 9-5 routine and celebrate the arts? The Greater Hartford Arts Council has partnered with Aetna to bring interactive arts to downtown Hartford through “Art on the Streets.” Innovative and hands-on art is finally accessible during your lunch break; paint a mini canvas with local artist, Lindsey Fyfe or dance along to live acoustic music by local musician, Tang Sauce.
Stationed at various locations throughout downtown, there are three types of interactive art on each scheduled day. Stroll through State House Square on June 9th to experience the Fun Machine: a machine that vends songs, drawings, and compliments. Or stop by the Phoenix Gateway to listen to a poetry slam and pick up tips from local
poet, Khaiim Kelly on June 7th. Visit letsgoarts.org/streets to get more information on our participating artists. And don’t forget to use #LetsGoArts when tagging your photos!
